Butterfly Appeal
29th March - 30 April 2010
Buy a butterfly and help give a deaf child wings!
You can help deaf children to have the same chances in life as hearing children by participating in the Butterfly Appeal.
The funds you raise will make it possible for Hear and Say to teach deaf children to hear, listen and speak so they can attend normal schools and have the same chances as hearing children for a mainstream education, work of their choice, and to enjoy life in the hearing world.
You can help by selling butterflies to your friends and family, work colleagues, customers and staff.
Why Butterflies?
Because butterflies can’t hear just like the Hear and Say children, and because, once our children can listen and speak, they emerge from the cocoon of their silent world and fly off into the world of sound.
“Come out, little butterfly”
Deaf children remind me of butterflies:
At first encased within a cocoon of deep silence not of their making, and then when sound and cadences of love reach them, they emerge in all their individual colours of soft or brilliant hue!
